Reimagining the Role of HR: Reflections from an Interactive Session with PTC Group
Recently, The Mentor Group had the privilege of facilitating an interactive HR session with the PTC Group of Companies’ HR team, joined by nearly 50 HR professionals from across the organization. What made the session especially meaningful was not just the number of participants, but the quality of the conversations-open, honest, energetic, and deeply reflective.

As organizations face rapid change, HR is being called to evolve beyond its traditional mandate. This session was designed as a pause point for HR leaders and practitioners to step back, reflect, and reimagine the impact they can create for their people and their business.
From Traditional HR to Future-Ready HR
Using Dave Ulrich’s HR framework as our foundation, the shifting role of HR was explored. While operational excellence and compliance remain essential, they are no longer sufficient on their own. Today’s HR professionals are increasingly expected to wear multiple hats:
- Experience Designers, shaping meaningful and consistent employee experiences across the entire lifecycle
- Strategic Partners, aligning people strategies with business priorities
- Employer Brand Stewards, intentionally crafting how the organization is perceived internally and externally
Each role was explored with a future-ready lens—one that acknowledges digital transformation, changing workforce expectations, and the growing emphasis on purpose, belonging, and well-being at work.
