The seminar/workshop on “Assertiveness” is designed to provide the participants to express their opinions, feelings and beliefs in direct, honest and appropriate ways. It means standing up your own rights in ways that do not violate another person’s rights or put the other person down.
Assertive behavior is particularly important in contemporary and future work settings as responsibilities continue to be devolved, team activities flourish, and knowledge, expertise and skills are more greatly disseminated and made available throughout an organization. Assertive behavior brings benefits to all—the organization, the team and its members. Assertive behavior brings about a more contented, efficient and effective workforce. It will be a more productive unit. Individuals, whatever their rank, will have more commitment to the team. They will feel unthreatened and more creative in their approach to work.
